BBC confirms release date of Gladiators series 2 (it’s not long to wait)

The BBC has confirmed the return of Gladiators with fans able to watch a second series.

If you love to watch the lineup take on the challenges, you don’t have long to wait with the new series starting this month.

In January 2023, Bradley Walsh and his son Barney began hosting the reboot of the show and now they’ll be back to do it all again.

The series sees members of the public attempt physically and mentally tough challenges while trying to beat the Gladiators.

Here’s what we know about the new series.

Who are the Gladiators in series two?

The returning Gladiators are “Sabre, Legend, Diamond, Phantom, Athena, Bionic, Giant, Dynamite, Comet, Viper, Electro, Apollo, Steel and Fire”, reports the Radio Times.

However, this series will see two more Gladiators join the pack. So far, their identities have not been revealed.

One of the Gladiators from the first series of the reboot will not return after picking up an injury in training – Nitro (Harry Aikines-Aryeetey).

In an Instagram post, the Gladiator told followers he’d be sitting on the sidelines instead: “Speed is my thing, but sometimes life throws a curveball!

“During training for series 2 earlier this year, I picked up an unexpected knee injury, which means I’ll be shifting gears this series and sitting out the events. But don’t worry, I’m recharging and more energised than ever!

“You’ll still catch me bringing the Nitro spirit to your screens, hyping up my fellow Gladiators, and keeping the energy sky-high. Bring on series 2 of Gladiators!”
