BBC The Traitors fans demand ‘day of mourning’ after ‘icon’ was next to leave

As the third week of The Traitors begins, fans of the show were left distraught after the latest murder was confirmed. Fans of the BBC show couldn’t face the drama as the result of Friday (10th January) night’s cliff-hanger was finally revealed.

As the night closed in at Ardross Castle, the two remaining traitors were told to pick four faithfuls and get them to play a game in a new twist that hasn’t featured in the previous two series. Claudia informed the faithfuls that the game was called “death match” and their panicked expressions became more apparent once Claudia announced that no one is safe and that the traitors handpicked them.

After the game, it was Alexander and Anna who had won the “life” cards, meaning they were saved from elimination. The episode ended with fans wondering whether Fozia or Leon would be the next to get murdered.

Tonight’s episode showed that it was Fozia who would be next to leave after failing to find the last life card and losing the game, and in this cruel twist the Traitors were asked to murder them face to face.

Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter), @Omages887 wrote: “Wait fozia is gone, I’m in complete shock” @kittymccracken added: “my mother is dead I can’t even be annoyed at Leon either.”

@l0ttiehall joked: “We actually just lost as a nation. Diva down.” @_SalmanAnwar continued: “I’m distraught, I’m so upset, she deserved so much, what have they DONE” and @notorioussimp penned: “we have witnessed the death of a Queen yet again, let tomorrow be a day of mourning for the UK.”

Leon ended up picking the life card meaning he was saved from elimination. The 40-year-old retail manager previously shared: “I just love the dynamic of the show and what it entails. Having worked in retail all my life, I always joke around at work about the good versus evil.

“I think about it when someone comes in and tries to get the cheapest deal but I’m on the other side trying to make them spend as much money as possible!

“The Traitors really grabbed my attention. I like the fact that everyone is working towards the same goal in the tasks and putting money in the pot, but then as soon as that task is finished, it’s weird how it’s suddenly a different game that you’re all playing. I just really wanted to be a part of it.”

Traitors is on at 9pm every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
