BBC The Traitors fans say Linda ‘set herself up’ after ‘defensive’ argument

The Traitors is in its third week and traitor Linda was eliminated which fans predicted after she had thrown herself under the best in the latest episode. Linda came under fire once more as faithfuls began to doubt her innocence.

Claudia Winkleman announced that the prize pot was currently at £41,000 when the final prize pot could reach up to £120,000. The host also revealed that they’ve already lost 10 faithfuls and caught one traitor, with Linda and Minah still in the game.

After a tense start with a mission to find three missing faithfuls, everyone was pointing fingers at each other trying to eliminate the next traitor. Linda, who has been favoured by fans of the show for her dramatic reactions, came under fire for how defensive she was getting at the roundtable.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), @TVqueertiques wrote: “Linda has just violently thrown herself in front of the bus.” @Alexia_Higgins added: “Linda is setting herself up LOOL.”

@gm4rshx joked: “Linda loading her own gun and firing the bullets straight into her own foot.” @adamisantihero admitted: “I don’t know if Linda doing this will be good in the long run.”

Linda, a 70-year-old retired opera singer previously shared: “I watched the two series, and I thought, do you know what? I think I could do that. And it was in a mad moment that I looked it up on the internet and saw there was a form to apply, and I thought, I’m just going to apply, let’s just see, never knowing that it would go this far.

“So yes, I love the show. I’m absolutely into it. I love the psychological game. I like the whole idea of fooling people.” When asked what she brings to the game, Linda said: “Well, I’m older, obviously, so I’ve maybe got more experience. I think I’m quite good at convincing people of things that aren’t true! And I think I’ve got quite a funny personality, so I’ll bring a bit of fun! Sometimes I can be a bit of an airhead too, so I might try and use that to my advantage!”

Unfortunately for Linda, it was revealed that she would be leaving the competition as she received the most votes. Luckily for the faithfuls that means that only one traitor remains in the competition after six episodes. Linda said “to experience this at my age and to get this far, I’ve had a whale of a time so thanks for it.”

Linda revealed to the table that she’s a traitor leading to a huge celebration from the remaining contestants, especially Jake who had suspected Linda from the beginning. In a twist, fellow traitor Minah had also voted for Linda to leave, potentially as she was becoming too much of a liability.

Traitors is on at 9pm every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
