A Warrington bingo group for adults with additional needs is seeking sponsorship from local businesses to help keep it running.
The bi-monthly community bingo afternoons, run by Activity Angels CIC, started in July last year and are now looking for sponsorship for their token prizes.
The community organisation received a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund in May 2024 which helped them to start their monthly activity schedules.

The community bingo session is held in Warrington town centre and is open to all adults, providing a safe space for those with additional needs who may otherwise feel lonely or socially isolated.

“Bingo is a great way for members to practice fine motor skills, and enjoy being socially engaged and meaningfully stimulated.
“It’s a great way to practice concentration and listening skills, and focusing on the game can also become mindful in itself.
“Winning also gives a great sense of satisfaction and achievement, and helps promote confidence and a shared sense of community.”

Ms Hems said: “We play a minimum of two games per session and sometimes fit in a maximum of three, also allowing time in the middle to break for a chat and socialise over a coffee.”
The group has previously received donations of chocolates and sweets from Tesco Winwick, which they expressed gratitude for.

Ms Hems added: “As little as just £10 per month would be required to sponsor our bingo prizes.
“Our stretch goals, if we were to receive higher offers from businesses, say £15-20 sponsorship per month, would be to purchase prizes that would promote healthier lifestyles, as well as just offering sweets.”
