Coleen Rooney has revealed that her son let slip secret I’m a Celebrity details at his school, ahead of her stint in the jungle.
The TV personality appeared on the This Morning sofa on Thursday (January 16), alongside hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, to discuss her time on the ITV reality show. Coleen notably came second on I’m a Celeb in December 2024, losing out to McFly star Danny Jones.
During today’s interview, Ben asked how Coleen had kept her upcoming appearance on the show a secret before it was officially announced.
“There’s that moment when you get asked, but then you have to keep it a secret as well, of course, because the production company wants to keep it a secret,” he said.

“When did you decide to tell the boys… because you’ve got little ones and big ones. The big ones probably could have been told and keep a secret, but the little ones must have been too excited, surely?” Ben continued.
Coleen revealed that she didn’t tell anyone initially, but was forced to tell her older children once several news outlets started reporting on it.
“I didn’t tell no one but it came out in the newspaper, so obviously people started asking me the questions, so I was just raising my eyebrows saying, ‘I can’t say anything’,” she explained.
“But the boys, I told the older ones and they were fine with it, but the younger ones overheard.

“We’d watched it as a family for years, and the younger ones would dip in and out because it’s late at night. But then they were excited once they knew I was actually going in. My 11-year-old came in from school one day and said, ‘Everyone’s asking me if you’re going in the jungle’.”
After asking her son what he’d said to his friends, Coleen said that he simply replied: “I just said yeah she is, and I’m not going with her”.
Cat and Ben quickly burst out laughing, to which Coleen then quipped: “ITV won’t be happy about that!”
Elsewhere in the interview, Coleen revealed that it was really “special” to see the pride in her four children after she returned home from Australia. “It’s nice that they’ve really took something away from it and enjoyed it,” she concluded.
This Morning airs daily at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
