Coronation Street legend sparks rumours of show return in cryptic post

A Coronation Street legend has sparked rumours of a return to the beloved soap opera in a cryptic social media post.

Helen Flanagan, who played the role of Rosie Webster on the ITV programme for over 20 years, left after going on maternity leave in 2018.

She first joined the show in the year 2000 and remained in the role continuously for 12 years before taking a break. She then made a comeback in 2017.

Fans were enthused by the post with one person writing: “Love this Helen. I remember you being that age! Xx”

Back in November, the actress told The Sun that she would love to return to the ITV soap opera.

In the interview, she told the publication: “I would absolutely love to go back to Coronation Street.

“I live now where I did growing up and I’ve moved around so much, you know, with my ex, football and stuff, so I’m back.

“But to be able to do Coronation Street, they would have to ask me back.

“Also if I went back and stuff, I’d want to be in a good storyline and what have you.”
