Hospice at Home West Cumbria has secured limited spots for the Great North Run 2025.
The world’s biggest half-marathon, spanning 13.1 miles, will take place on September 7, guiding runners from Newcastle to South Shields.
The charity is offering an early bird entry fee of £50 for those registering before January 31.
Holly Harkness, community fundraising co-ordinator for the charity, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to secure your place for the Great North Run nice and early, giving you plenty of time to focus on your training and fundraising.
“In 2024, our team of runners raised our highest total yet, with more than £21,000 being raised to support our vital palliative and end-of-life services – can our 2025 runners raise even more?”
Nicola, a healthcare assistant for the charity, ran the 2023 Great North Run, raising funds for the cause.
She said: “I chose to run for Hospice at Home West Cumbria because, in the short space of time I had worked for them prior to the Great North Run, I realised how vital this service is for people who need support in what is probably the most difficult times of their and their families’ lives.”
