For those who do not want to or are unable to post their jar, organisers of the event have numerous collection points around the UK and one in New York collecting American entries.
The winner of the competition will have their marmalade stocked at Fortnum and Mason in Piccadilly – also a collection point.
Jars can also be handed to the farm shops at service stations at Gloucester, Cairn Lodge and Tebay in Cumbria.
Beatrict Hasell-McCouch, director of The Dalemain World Awards and Festival, organisers or the event, said: “Already the creativity of ingredients from early entries is wonderful.
“Those in hot climates are able to grow their own citrus, there are strong entries from the UK including herbs and spices and root veg are always popular additions as are wild and weird flavours such as seaweed or smoked garlic.

“We are incredibly grateful to Fortnums, Rathbones, Westmorland Family and Lycetts for their sponsorship support of this 20th Anniversary year.
“With their support, we have raised over £320,000 for Hospice at Home since my mother Jane started the awards in 2005.”
New categories for this year include ‘A Taste From Home Marmalade’, inspired by Peruvian Paddington Bear who brought his love of marmalade to the Brown household in the UK, this is a category for refugees, expats and people living far from home; to celebrate tastes, cultures and communities, old and new.
Also new for the 2025 awards is the ‘Twenty Years of Marmalade’ category, allowing any of the three hundred or so past category winners from the last 20 years to battle it out.
