Film crews spotted in town as Brassic cast and crew descend

Film crews have been spotted in Burnley as filming officially commences for Brassic season seven.

Gaz Ashworth took a picture of film crews and trailers at Towneley Park. They are thought to be the team behind the hit Sky show, Brassic.

Burnley Council confirmed that Brassic is filming in Burnley on and off throughout January.

Filming locations include Rossendale Road and Crown Point.

A spokesperson for Burnley Council said: “I can indeed confirm that Brassic is filming in Burnley throughout January on and off.

“Locations include Rossendale Road and Crown Point.”

The seventh season of Brassic was commissioned last year but not much else is currently known about its production.

Previous seasons of the show, including series six, have aired in September.

Brassic launched onto screens in 2019, quickly becoming Sky’s highest-rated 60-minute comedy series ever and the show continues to be the best-rating Sky Original comedy each year it has been on air.

Film crews often visit East Lancashire to film and Bacup doubles as the backdrop to the series, the fictional town of Hawley.

In the past, the cast has visited 1832 Barista coffee shop and Baked Cakes in St James Street, and beyond.

Burnley-born actor, Muzz Khan, appeared in the last series and plays a character called Adyan Khan.

Muzz joined the cast in August 2022, and described his character as a “quirky one”.

Muzz said: “Adyan’s a quirky one. He’s got a great heart but is very naive. He’s also pretty kooky and slightly larger than life.

“He was such a joy to play. I had great fun creating him.

“Brassic is one of those rare shows on television that is as insane to film as it is to watch.

“Every day was different and crazy – matching the high-jinx and dramatised illegality of the plots.”

Is Adyan set to return for the latest series? Time will tell.
