Four casualties after Chorley New Road crash between fire engine and car

Emergency services were called to Chorley New Road in Bolton yesterday morning following reports of a collision between a fire engine and a car.

Firefighters were called to Chorley New Road at around 9.10am on Monday morning (December 30th) following reports of the collision.

It is believed that four people were assessed by North West Ambulance Service whilst two fire engines from Bolton Central Community Fire Station and the Enhanced Rescue Unit from Leigh Community Fire Station worked to make the area safe.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 9.10am this morning (Monday 30 December), firefighters were called to attend a road traffic collision involving a fire engine and a car on Chorley New Road, Bolton.

“Two fire engines from Bolton Central Community Fire Station and the Enhanced Rescue Unit from Leigh Community Fire Station arrived quickly and worked alongside Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe.

“Four casualties were assessed at the scene by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and ten minutes.”

Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
