On New Year’s Eve, there was heavy rain across the UK, which led to major flooding in the Greater Manchester region, which was followed by freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall.
Large parts of the country have experienced disruption caused by the weather including road closures, risks to health due to the cold, school closures, and delays and cancellations at airports across the UK.
