Former Manchester United defender, Wes Brown, wants Marcus Rashford to stay at Manchester United amidst interest from Paris Saint Germain and Saudi Pro League clubs.

The 27-year-old has scored eight goals in 23 games this season but has struggled to get into Ruben Amorim’s starting 11, since he took over in November.

Brown who also played at Fletcher Moss Rangers like United’s number 10, does believe the treatment Rashford gets is different to other players.

“Everything he does is so highly publicised; these things happen at all clubs, but people care more because he is a local boy and is always in the limelight,” Brown told The Sports Daily.

The two-time Champions League winner thinks that with “a few changes” the Wythenshawe born forward could get back into the starting line-up.

Rashford’s best season came in 2019/20, where he scored 22 goals in 44 appearances. That was followed up by 30 goals in 56 games in 2022/23 under Erik ten Hag.

“I think the main thing for Marcus is just to get his head down and regardless of what happens in the future, get back to playing at his best,” Brown added.

“I think United need him in the team and playing well, so hopefully the situation resolves itself.”

Arsenal have also been linked with the England international to help bolster their title efforts, however, the former United right back does not want him to move to the North London club, as he is a “Manchester lad and has done so much for the club in the past.”

Brown added: “United are missing his ability and his experience, these things happen in football and hopefully he and the manager can work things out together.”
