‘I work at Tesco – there’s ‘impeccable’ new meal deal snack no one’s talking about’

If you’re a fan of Tesco’s popular meal deal, you’ll be pleased to know that the supermarket chain has added a new snack option for those who don’t fancy crisps or fruit.

A Tesco worker named Nathan Lorenzo, 27, took to TikTok on to share a big change to the Tesco meal deal – which includes a main, a snack and a drink for £3.60 for Clubcard members and £4 for non-members – that people may not know about.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Tesco are now doing – wait for it – soup in the meal deal,” he said. “And I think this is absolute genius from Tesco because it’s absolutely freezing in the UK right now. And what do you do when you’re cold? You have soup, or something hot!”

He went on to show the Covent Garden tomato soup that he’d gotten with his meal deal, which counted as his snack.

“As a snack! It’s not even as the main, as a snack,” he revealed. According to Tesco’s website, shoppers can choose from New Covent Garden’s Classic Chicken Soup or the Creamy Tomato Soup Nathan opted for.

He also shared the rest of his meal deal, showing that he’d opted for a sandwich with honey ham with Emmental cheese as well as a lemon-flavoured Fanta. He continued: “So that’s my meal deal for the day – I would give this, I would say, quite comfortably, a solid nine out of 10, because you’ve got the little summer bits, your winter bits and then you’ve got a limited-edition sandwich.”

Viewer were more than happy to hear about the new snack option in the meal deal as they claim to have been inspired by the TikToker. “I hope you’re getting paid for this because I have been INFLUENCED,” one person commented.

A second person added: “The fact the soup counts as a snack is impeccable work.” However, some questioned the convenience of the soup, as they asked: “How are we going to eat the soup from the meal deal on the go?” To this, another viewer answered: “Probably for people that work in offices that have access to a microwave.”
