‘It’s with huge sadness’: Popular wine shop makes major announcement

A popular borough wine shop is rebranding and having a refurbishment after eight years in business.

In a light-hearted announcement on Tuesday morning, Grape to Grain in Church Lane in Prestwich said to its customers they have “enjoyed their last drink in good ‘ole G2G”.

The shop, which sells a wide selection of wines and beers from around the world as well as cheeses and charcuterie boards, is owned by Tom Sneesby and Joannes Hubertus van Goethem.

A shop spokesperson said: “It’s with huge sadness we have to announce that Grape to Grain is no more.

“You have all, whether you realised it or not, enjoyed your last drink in good ‘ole G2G.

“Thanks to everyone for eight phenomenal years, we have made lifelong friends, and we will miss you all.”

“We aren’t going to change a huge amount of what we do and how we do it, but with an eye on the next eight years we are freshening up.

“We could have just done a rebrand job on G2G, but that’s a bit like only drinking half a bottle of wine.

“It’s all a work in progress, pop in and see us from 5pm on Thursday and have a wee glass of fizzy wizzy.”
