Joe Swash ‘wants to be more involved’ as he prepares to face ‘scrutiny’ with Stacey Solomon

Joe Swash allegedly wants to become “more involved” ahead of the launch of reality TV show which will give viewers a look inside his homelife with his wife Stacey Solomon.

The insider told Heat that the 42-year-old wanted to be more involved and is aware that he and his family will be under increased scrutiny once the programme, titled ‘Stacey & Joe’, is broadcast on the BBC.

They claimed: “Joe wants to be more involved – they have a big family and they want to work together. They also know they’ll be under scrutiny and the kids will become a lot more famous, but they all love being in front of the camera.” The insider also provided insight into how Loose Women presenter Stacey, 35, was viewing the new project.

They added: “Stacey knows there will be criticism, but this is about the big picture… It’s the ideal way for Stacey to be at home and still earn money to give them the best possible life.”

The insider’s comments come days after Stacey revealed she nearly broke up with Joe after he arranged an “inappropriate” setting for his marriage proposal.

Stacey made the revelation on an episode of BBC’s popular programme Would I Lie To You where she shared an amusing story about Joe’s proposal to her during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Stacey said it happened during one lockdown Christmas and explained how Joe had laid flowers in a nearby wood which she mistook for an act of grieving. She explained: “We went on a walk, and all these flowers were laid out. So I said, ‘I think someone has passed’. He said, ‘Let’s go and have a look’.

“I said, ‘What the hell is wrong with you? I’m not walking through that’. I said, ‘I don’t know if I can be with a person like you who gets off on someone else’s misfortune. I was expecting a shrine, but Joe had put the flowers out to propose to me.”

Alongside admitting that Joe nearly, albeit accidentally, triggered a disagreement as he tried to propose to Stacey, questions have also been raised about Joe’s tidiness by Stacey herself, reported the Mirror.

According to the source, Stacey has allegedly asked her husband to sort his life out organisationally at home. They claimed to Closer: “She finds herself completely overwhelmed and anxious if things aren’t in order.

“She’s been ruthless this year at Pickle Cottage, completely decluttering the house from top to bottom. She’s been hoping that Joe will follow her lead and start trying to sort his life out at home, too.”

They added that Stacey has reportedly asked Joe to “get his act together” due to his messiness around the house which reportedly includes repeatedly leaving his things on the floor of their bedroom.

Stacey, Joe, and their family are set to star in a BBC reality TV series due to be released later this year, one which was filmed during the summer and autumn of 2024.

In a statement announcing the series Stacey said: “We’ve loved showing a different side to our family’s fun and chaos. We can’t wait for you to join us at Pickle Cottage this year.”

Joe added: “We’ve been doing our best to keep this under wraps… But we’re so glad we can finally tell all of you about ‘Stacey & Joe’!…There will be the normal madness of a family with lots of kids, plenty of animals and two busy parents. Here we go!”

Joe Swash’s representatives have been approached for comment.
