With the year drawing to an end, King Charles’ New Years Honours list for 2025 has now been revealed. The King’s third list since his coronation in 2023 recognises and rewards all those who have done good and made a difference in several areas this year.
As well as the ordinary people honoured for their services to the country, the list also recognises a whole host of famous faces and celebrities who have done the same – including actors, politicians, musicians and sportspeople.
More than 1,200 people from across the UK have received honours in the latest list, and have been awarded MBEs, OBEs, and CBEs. The oldest person on the list is 103-year-old, whilst the youngest recipients are both 18.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: “Each and every day, ordinary people go out and do extraordinary things for their communities. They represent the very best of the UK and that core value of service which I put at the centre of everything this government does. The New Year Honours List celebrates more of these unsung heroes, and I thank them for their incredible contribution.”
Here are all of the celebrities, famous faces and sporting stars honoured in this year’s list.

Actor Stephen Fry, 67, known for BBC comedy Blackadder and hosting quiz show QI, has been recognised for his services to mental health awareness, the environment and to charity. Since 2011, he has been president of mental health charity Mind and supported the conservation group Fauna and Flora International, of which the Prince of Wales is patron.
Sir Stephen told the PA news agency: “When you are recognised it does make you feel a bit ‘crikey’, but I think the most emotional thing is that when I think of my childhood, and my dreadful unhappiness and misery and stupidity, and everything that led to so many failures as a child.
“And for my parents, really, what a disaster. I mean every time the phone rang, they thought, ‘Oh, God, what has Stephen done now’. It was a sort of joke in the family.”

Former England manager Gareth Southgate, 54, has been knighted for services to association football, after leading the Three Lions to the finals of Euro 2020 and 2024, and the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup.
He resigned after England’s 2-1 final defeat to Spain in July, having fallen just short of glory in every tournament during his eight-year stint. Sir Gareth declined to comment on the honour.

The former Hear’Say singer, who is mother to daughters Ava and Hero and son Apollo, has suffered four miscarriages and spoken openly about the psychological effects of baby loss on women.
Speaking about her MBE, the 46-year-old told the PA news agency she was “absolutely over the moon”. She said: “Because when I think back to how all of this started, it all came from a very dark place, and I certainly didn’t have it in mind to become a campaigner at the time.
“Anyone that’s suffered the pain of baby loss or miscarriage, you just go into survival mode and then to have reoccurring miscarriages again, the only way you can see forward is just, you know, one breath at a time, one day at a time.”
