Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes appears to be adopting a no-nonsense approach to the January transfer window, with reports suggesting the club is preparing to recall another loanee.
Liverpool is set to recall Kaide Gordon from his loan spell at Norwich City, marking another decisive move during this crucial month The talented winger has struggled for regular game time at Carrow Road, starting just one Championship match since his summer move, prompting the Reds to cut the loan short.
The 20-year-old was sent to Norwich to gain valuable first-team experience. However, Gordon’s lack of involvement is hindering the progress Liverpool had hoped for.

The Athletic’s James Pearce reports that Gordon is set to return “this week and the plan is to fix up another loan for the second half of the season with a number of Football League clubs having already registered interest in securing his services.”
Gordon’s loan to Norwich was initially intended to span the entire season, but things haven’t gone as planned. The winger has managed just 177 minutes of game time and only one start in the Championship. While he did score a goal in a 4-0 victory over Hull, he has struggled to break into the team under manager Johannes Hoff Thorup.

In December Hoff Thorup said: “The ideal scenario was that he was in the starting line-up every weekend. That is not the situation at the moment.
“We try to develop him, improve him, have talks with him and treat him like one of the others as we are, of course, supposed to do.”
Gordon remained an unused substitute during Norwich’s 4-0 FA Cup defeat to Brighton at Carrow Road on Saturday.
