Liverpool transfer target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has reportedly agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain after telling Napoli manager Antonio Conte that he wants to leave the club.

PSG is said to have attempted to sign Kvaratskhelia during last summer’s transfer window, and the player himself wanted to leave the Serie A club, but Conte wanted to keep the Georgia international.

The former Chelsea manager revealed that Kvaratskhelia recently informed him that his stance remains the same, and that he would like to leave Napoli this month.

“He asked the club to be sold, without mincing his words. This is what was said to me, the player has confirmed his decision to me,” Conte said.

“Personally I feel very disappointed, because I spent six months trying to make Kvara feel at the centre of the project, working with him, showing him that we could do something great and also working with the club for six months on the renewal.

“From my point of view, it’s a great disappointment. Today I have to take a step back. I can’t keep those who want to leave tied up in chains. I did that in the summer [when Kvaratskhelia wanted to leave] and had six months to convince all the parties to find a solution.”

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported that PSG has agreed “every aspect” of Kvaratskhelia’s contract, and that the player is set to see his salary increase by four or five times in the French capital.

Kvaratskhelia is still on the same terms that he signed upon signing for Napoli from Georgian club Dinamo Batumi in 2022, so is presumably still on a relatively modest wage with the Italian club.

Meanwhile, Liverpool has reportedly had an approach rejected for Bologna center-back Sam Beukema. Arne Slot is an admirer of the 26-year-old and also tried to sign during his spell as Feyenoord manager.

However, Bologna reportedly told Liverpool that no big players will be leaving the club this summer. The report says that it is a “safe bet” that Liverpool will revive its interest in the future.
