Darts sensation and Manchester United supporter Luke Littler has told Ruben Amorim who he thinks the Reds should target now the January transfer window has opened.

The 17-year-old has had a whirlwind 12 months after reaching the final of the World Championships at Alexandra Palace last year, on his debut. Since then, expectations have changed for the teenager but he continues to perform.

On Wednesday night, Littler reached the semi-finals of the competition as he beat Nathan Aspinall 5-2 to set up an intriguing last-four clash with Stephen Bunting tonight. The secret behind the teenager’s success is his ability not to become overawed by the pressures of the sport and spending time enjoying his other hobbies.

One such hobby is keeping across the goings on at his beloved United. While the Reds are struggling in the bottom half of the table and MEN Sport understands United have no budget for signings this winter, Littler is still hopeful that his club can make moves to improve their failing squad.

In a post on Instagram, Littler suggested that United should look to bring in Barcelona’s attacking midfielder Dani Olmo until the end of the season. This suggestion came as Olmo was removed from Barcelona’s squad list on the La Liga website.

The 26-year-old currently finds himself unregistered in Catalonia after Barca failed to provide enough evidence that his registration would not break the league’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. Barcelona have appealed several times against this ruling but have so far failed.

Recently, there were reports that Barcelona had agreed an £83m sponsorship deal that would allow Olmo to be re-registered but that has yet to come to fruition. Despite this, Barca are confident they can resolve this issue.

If they don’t, Olmo would be free to leave Barcelona and sign for another club. United are one of the teams across Europe thought to be observing this situation closely.
