Man, 59, arrested after ‘150 cannabis plants’ seized by police in dawn raid

Five rooms full of cannabis plants have been discovered at a property in Tameside following a dawn raid. Officers searched the property on Manchester Road, in Audenshaw, early on Wednesday morning (January 15) following intelligence gathered by police.

Police discovered the plants at various stages of their growth cycle. Around 150 plants were seized from the site, along with various paraphernalia and growing equipment.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis. He was taken to custody for questioning. Greater Manchester Police says the raid was part of work carried out by the Tameside Neighbourhood Team to combat drug supply.
