Manchester City transfer target Omar Marmoush will be in Eintracht Frankfurt’s squad on Friday night for a huge Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund, his current manager insists.
Speaking on Thursday, Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmoller was clear that he will include 20-goal striker Marmoush in his plans until he is told otherwise, meaning the Egyptian is set to feature against Dortmund.
“Omar will play tomorrow, under normal circumstances. He is in my plans,” Toppmöller said in his press conference – but a subsequent update cast doubt on that stance.

Bild say Frankfurt accept that Marmoush wants to join City and will not block that opportunity, particularly as they are set for a huge profit having signed him on a free transfer in 2023.
Frankfurt want £67m while City are hoping to pay under £60m, and now reports in France say an agreement has been reached pending final details. RMC suggest that means Marmoush will not be involved against Dortmund and could in fact have played his final game for Eintracht.
Also on Thursday, multiple reports in Italy linked City with Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, 24, who could be available for €60-65m (£50-55m). The Italy international can play on both flanks either in defence or midfield, and has 13 goal involvements in 64 appearances for Juve since joining the Old Lady for £10m in 2023.
City are set to sign young centre-backs Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis this month for £33.5m and £29.5m respectively. If Marmoush joined them it would take their January spending to around £120m, before any move for Cambiaso. Kyle Walker could leave City after asking to explore an exit this month and has been left out of the last two fixtures as a result.
