A man has died after a crash in Burnley.
Police were called to Padiham Road, at around 5pm, yesterday (January 16).
Police found that a Hyundai IX20 car had hit a pedestrian in the carriageway.
A man in his 60s suffered serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at hospital. The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and footage.
A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a man very sadly died in a collision in Burnley.
“Our officers were called at 5.06pm yesterday to Padiham Road, Burnley, to a report of a road traffic collision.
“When they attended, it was found that a Hyundai IX20 car had been in collision with a pedestrian in the carriageway.
“The pedestrian – a man in his 60s – suffered serious injuries and very sadly was pronounced dead at hospital.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this distressing time and they were being supported by specially trained officers.
“The road was closed for several hours to allow collision investigation work to be carried out.
“As officers investigate the collision, we are appealing for witnesses and any footage from the area around the time it happened.
