Manchester United co-owners Ineos have been told they may have to pay towards Marcus Rashford’s wages if they want to move the forward on in the January transfer window.
Rashford announced last month that he would be open to seeking a new chapter away from Old Trafford after being dropped for the Manchester City victory. Since then, Ruben Amorim chose to leave Rashford out of the squad for the next two Premier League games before he returned to the bench for the defeat to Newcastle.
The 27-year-old missed the draw with Liverpool at the weekend due to illness but it feels like his time is coming to an end at his boyhood club. Last week, MEN Sport reported that Rashford had rejected bids valued at £35m per year to join one of three Saudi Arabian teams this winter.

His desire is to remain in Europe and revitalise his career. But speaking exclusively to the Manchester Evening News, DisCasino ambassador Emmanuel Petit believes United may have to finance any exit for Rashford if they want him gone in January.
“I’m glad Marcus Rashford is not leaving for Saudi Arabia,” Petit explained. “We know his qualities, the problem is his mentality, I’m not sure what is going through his head and it’s difficult to analyse the situation.
“As soon as he signed his big contract, he’s become worse. It reminds me of Raheem Sterling at Manchester City.
“Rashford’s future is not at Manchester United, his future is elsewhere. But, his wages limit where he can go, who can afford that kind of money he’s on?
“Even the top clubs sometimes can’t. Rashford will need to cut his wages, teams outside of the Premier League can’t afford that.
“Or, Manchester United agree a loan deal where they pay for a certain amount of his wages.” Throughout the saga with Rashford, Amorim has insisted that he would be happy for the winger to stay.
