Manchester United must sell to buy this month, and several of their players are said to have attracted interest since the winter transfer window opened.

United have no January transfer budget after spending over £200million on signings during the summer. Struggles to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules now necessitate outgoings before any incomings at Old Trafford.

Head coach Ruben Amorim acknowledged this following the defeat to Newcastle United, ruling out the possibility of any additions. However, there is reportedly plenty of interest in United players from home and abroad. Here is a round-up of the latest.

Rashford race

Borussia Dortmund is reputedly the latest club considering signing Marcus Rashford on loan this month. A year after temporarily taking Jadon Sancho off United’s hands, The Athletic credits them with an interest in the forward.

Milan and Juventus are also seemingly suitors alongside multiple unnamed Premier League clubs. Arsenal and Newcastle are clubs linked with the former England international elsewhere.

Any deal would only be until the end of this season, similar to the Sancho arrangement last term. Like that deal, United would seek any club to cover as much of Rashford’s weekly wages as financially possible, exceeding £325,000.

Casemiro change

Saudi interest is reputedly something Casemiro is now open to after seemingly being against a move to the Kingdom this summer when he is said to have turned down a £3million signing-on fee. talkSPORT reports that the midfielder could be available for around £25million, six months after United asked for £70million amid interest from Al Ittihad. Their reluctance to pay the price that Real Madrid received from the Reds.

However, Al Nassr now appears willing to make the player one of the Saudi Pro League’s highest-paid players with a potential £650,000 weekly wage, around double what Rashford is on, for context.

Antony approach

Antony appears another player who is free to leave United this month. Olympiacos seemingly want Antony on loan, with Sky Sport Germany claiming they have asked the Reds about doing a deal.

Their interest is also widely reported nationally in the Mail and Sun. Antony’s agent acknowledged late last year that “many clubs have approached” them about the player.

“These clubs wanted to understand the situation for Antony, so I can confirm that there’s concrete interest,” Junior Pedroso told GiveMeSport. He also added that they would work together with United if they believed a loan would be best.
