Manchester United have released a statement following adverse weather conditions in the north west ahead of their Premier League encounter with Liverpool on Sunday.
The match at Anfield is scheduled for 4.30pm but after the heavy snowfall across the country overnight has put some doubts over whether the Premier League match would go ahead. Liverpool City Council’s Safety Advisory Group held a meeting this morning to determine whether the game would go ahead as planned.
It has since been confirmed the match at Anfield is still set to go ahead as it stands – however, a final decision has been deferred to 12pm. “The City’s Ground Safety Advisory Group is reconvening at midday to discuss the match given that weather conditions may be changing,” Liverpool City Council told the Manchester Evening News.
