Manuel Ugarte has issued a strong message after Manchester United defeated Arsenal in a penalty shootout in dramatic style.
It was an eventful afternoon at the Emirates Stadium with the two Premier League giants going head-to-head for a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Bruno Fernandes handed the visitors the lead but their effort would be undone when Diogo Dalot received marching orders in the 61st minute.
Gabriel Magalhaes then equalised from the resulting free-kick. Moments later, Arsenal were then awarded a penalty by referee Andy Madley but goalkeeper Altay Bayindir kept his side in the match by denying Martin Odegaard from 12 yards.

Despite being down to ten men since the hour mark, United took the game to extra-time and won on penalties. Bayindir was once again the hero, denying Kai Havertz to book a home tie with Leicester City which will be Ruud van Nistelrooy’s return to Old Trafford, next month.
Ugarte, who delivered a solid performance, took to Instagram and X after the game. Sharing a couple of snaps from the game, he wrote: “When we have the ball, it’s a game and when we don’t, it’s a fight. Let’s keep it going always together.”
Ugarte’s post came after United shared the word ‘justice’ on the club’s official X account following the win on penalties.
Speaking after the game, the United head coach Ruben Amorim said: “Thankfully the players were there, they fought. Sometimes what we talk about before the match is not tactical or technical, it’s this. We have to compete no matter what, no matter what the situation we competed today.
“We deserved to win, Arsenal didn’t deserve to lose but we deserved to win. The way we played, the way we fought was really tough since the beginning. We didn’t have the ball too much but we had control without the ball. I want to also say thank you to all the fans. It was unbelievable. I did not understand that all that area was our supporters, so it was a good day for us now we have to rest the players, I’m already thinking about the next game they’re really tired.”
