MORE emergency items have been donated to a hub that is supporting residents hit by flooding.
Earlier this week, TORUS launched a support hub to help those who need a warm care package, who have any questions about what to do next, or who require further assistance.
Speaking to residents, a spokesperson for TORUS said: “We understand that the recent floods and cold weather over the weekend will have posed significant challenges for many of you, not only to your homes but also to your emotional wellbeing.
“Please know that your safety and wellbeing are our priority, and we are here to support you in any way we can.
“We’ve set up a dedicated flood support hub in the heart of the community. Whether you need a warm care package, have questions about what to do next, or require further assistance, our team is ready to listen and help.”
Now, more emergency items have been donated to the hub.
This is from Cadent which manages the north west’s gas network and its gas emergency service.
It has donated heated blankets and thermal socks. And it is also said it can make arrangements for fuel vouchers to be issues.
If the skill sets of Cadent’s engineers can be used in any capacity, these are also being made available, through its ‘Services Beyond the Meter’ team.
The company already works closely with the council and its Centre for Warmth programme.
Paula Steer, director of Cadent’s North West Network, said: “We are part of the community here in Warrington and want to do whatever we can to support.
“Please visit the team at the hub; at 41 Southworth Avenue, Warrington, if you have been impacted by the floods and think we can help.”
