Borivali Police seize 472g heroin worth ₹47.20 lakh, arrest two Mira Road residents | Representative Image
Mumbai: The Borivali police seized 472 grams of heroin worth Rs 47.20 lakh and arrested two individuals for allegedly possessing the drug. The accused had concealed the drugs in the soles of slippers and shoes. The accused have been identified as Shoaib Ansari, 24, and Abhishek Kumar, 25, both residents of Mira Road East.
According to the police, on January 5, they arrested a man named Parvez Ansari, 45, for allegedly possessing 87 grams of heroin. During his interrogation, Parvez revealed that his associates were also in possession of drugs. Acting on this information, the police laid a trap at flat no. 402, Shalbhadra Gram Building No. 2, Kashimira, Mira Road East, and arrested the two individuals.
Shoaib Ansari was found with 176 grams of heroin worth Rs 17.40 lakh, while Abhishek Kumar was found with 210 grams of heroin worth Rs 21 lakh. Upon further examination of their cupboards, the police discovered additional quantities of heroin concealed in the soles of slippers and shoes, bringing the total value of the seized drugs to Rs 47.20 lakh. The operation was executed by Police Inspector Pradip Kale under the guidance of senior officers.
