Mumbai: In a disturbing event, an intoxicated man entered the women’s carriage at Chunabhatti station during busy morning hours of January 11. The event occurred at 8 AM when the individual, originally in the general coach, secretly entered the ladies’ coach from beneath the train.

Witnesses stated that the man was not only drunk but also appeared to be affected by drugs. He was observed inhaling from a cloth in his pocket and spitting on the train. His actions were accompanied by a strong, unpleasant smell and movements that made passengers uneasy.

The video was posted by X (former Twitter) user Manasi (@Manasisplaining), who was witness to the incident, explained the turn of events in the caption that reads, “An intoxicated man climbed inside ladies coach at Chunabhatti station. He sneaked from under the train frame. The voice of men shouting at him alarmed us. He was removed at GTB, there were no police on either stations! This occurred at 8 AM!”

The post continues in thread where the user informed about the man. “He was on drugs as he was sniffing some cloth that was in his pocket while he roamed inside the whole coach when repetitively asked to stand at the door. He smelled bad and even spit inside the coach.”

The eyewitness explain that the man initially entered the general compartment from the empty space between the two tracks at the Chunabhatti station. They tried to remove him from the train. This came drew attention of the women sitting in the women’s coach. When the men tried to push him out he held on to the ladders beneath the train coach and made his way towards the ladies coach.

Upon entering the coach, he began to walk around as the train departed from the station, making its way to Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Nagar station. Continuously requesting to stand by the door, he disregarded everything and continued to sniff a cloth from his pocket and even spat on the coach.

The man was eventually got off the train at GTB Nagar station, but what is concerning is that no police officers were available at either Chunabhatti or GTB Nagar stations. This event brings up significant worries regarding the safety of commuters, especially women travelling on local Mumbai trains.
