Mumbai: The Mankhurd Police arrested accused in POCSO case from Nausil Naka, Ghansoli Village, Navi Mumbai. The accused is identified as Sagar Laxman Kapsekar. The sexually assaulting case have been registered in Mankhurd Police Station under Sections 137(2), 64(1), 64(2)(M) of the BNS Act and Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 of the POCSO Act.
According to Police, as per the complaint, the accused, Sagar Kapsekar, lured the minor daughter of the complainant by offering her job in a catering business. He took the girl to Ghatkopar, under the pretext of providing employment. Upon returning home, the victim broke down, prompting her mother to inquire about her distress. The minor revealed that the accused had taken her to the unknown location and repeatedly forced her into physical relations.
Following this revelation, the complainant took her daughter to the Mankhurd Police Station, where a case was registered under relevant sections of the POCSO Act. The accused was on the run, frequently changing locations and using multiple mobile phones to evade capture. Acting on a tip-off that Kapsekar was in the vicinity of Nausil Naka, Ghansoli Village, Navi Mumbai, a surveillance team led by Sub-Inspector Bansode and police Pawar and Choudhary conducted an operation.
The accused was apprehended from the location and brought to Mankhurd Police Station, where he was formally arrested in connection with the case of POCSO.
