New Year’s Day 2024 supermarket opening times for Aldi, Tesco, Asda, M&S, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s

As December comes to a close we celebrate the end of 2024 and the start of a brand new year. Whether you are celebrating with a party, or going to bed before midnight, supermarkets are expected to be busy over the next few days so it’s important to make sure you are stocked uo.

However it is worth remembering that because New Year’s Day on Wednesday is a bank holiday, opening and closing times for stores including Aldi, Tesco, Asda Lidl, or Morrisons will not be normal.

There is no law that stops stores closing on New Year’s Day, but it is classed as a bank holiday, so a lot will be open – however some have decided to give staff an extra day off and keep their doors shut. And on New Year’s Day most will close earlier than usual.
