This award brings attention to Burnley College’s commitment to ‘creating innovative and inspiring courses’ that are relevant to the industry.

The college’s game art and design courses have grown over the last five years, preparing students for careers in the creative industries.

The college has invested in technology to ensure students are always working with the latest equipment.

Karen Buchanan, principal of Burnley College, said: “This award is a wonderful recognition of Renzo’s tremendous impact and his passion for game design which is shaping the future of the creative industries.

“Burnley College is proud to provide students with the skills and inspiration to innovate, create, and succeed in an industry where imagination has no limits.”

Burnley College offers a range of courses that link academia with industry.

Students interested in game art can join the BC Games Art Programme, which starts in February.

Over five weeks, students will learn about the software they’ll be using and the skills they’ll develop.

The college also offers vocational study programmes in game art and a new BA Hons degree in game art, awarded by the University of Bolton.

The degree is taught at the college’s new Burnley College University Courses hub.
