A prolific shoplifter has been banned from a number of supermarkets.
Jason Wadsworth, 29, was jailed for four months following a spate of thefts in the Farnworth area of Bolton. He was also served with a three-year criminal behaviour order at Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court on January 3.
The order, which runs until 2028, prevents Wadsworth from entering several shops in the Farnworth and Kearsley areas of Bolton. He faces prison a further prison sentence if he fails to comply with the order, police have warned.

Wadsworth, of no fixed abode, was found guilty of 29 shoplifting offences. Each of the thefts happened in Farnworth over the last 12 months, according to police.
Sergeant Jessica Prudent of Greater Manchester Police’s Bolton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “If Wadsworth is found to have breached any of the conditions that have been placed on him, he will be put back in jail.
“His offending has blighted the local community for the last few years and he has caused ongoing issues for retail staff as well as for shoppers who were simply going about their daily business.

“As a team we have worked hard to only bring Wadsworth to justice but have robust structures in place following his release and we hope this can provide reassurance to the local community that we are doing all we can to deter criminality like this from occurring.
“The Criminal Behaviour Order comes from partnership work between Bolton’s Policing Team, Farnworth Retail Partnership and members of the public who have provided information that led to Wadsworth’s arrest.
“If anyone has any information about Wadsworth breaching the restrictions of the Criminal Behaviour Order, contact us on gmp.police.uk or alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
