Public’s view requested on two Lancashire hospital replacements

People are being asked to give their views on the proposed sites for two new hospitals in Lancaster and Preston.

The hospitals, which are being delivered through the Government’s New Hospital Programme, will replace the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Royal Preston Hospital.

An announcement was made last month to the effect that University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, have secured land for the new hospitals.

A series of public engagement events have now been organised to gather feedback from local communities.

These events aim to ensure that patients, NHS staff, local residents, MPs, local authorities, partner organisations, and other stakeholders can share their views on the proposed sites.

The full list of events is as follows:

  • Monday, February 3, from 5.30pm to 7pm, Lancaster Town Hall

  • Wednesday, February 5, from 5.45pm to 7.15pm, Chorley Football Club

  • Wednesday, February 12, from 5.30pm to 7pm, Morecambe Football Club

  • Friday, February 14, from 10am to 11.30am, Preston Grasshoppers RUFC

  • Wednesday, February 19, from 5.30pm to 7pm, The Forum, Barrow

  • Monday, March 3, from 5.30pm to 7pm, Farington Lodge

  • Friday, March 14, from 10am to 11.30am, Lancaster University

In addition to the events, a survey will be made available online, by post, and over the phone.
