Manchester United are set to be without some key players for the clash with Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
Ruben Amorim’s side have lost four games on the bounce and have not scored in the previous three outings. Monday’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle saw the return of Marcus Rashford to the squad despite his admission that he is open to a challenge away from the club.
Rashford did not make an appearance off the bench against the Magpies and he now looks doubtful to be a part of the squad that travels to Anfield on Sunday after Amorim confirmed he was ill.

Here is the latest on the United injury front ahead of a huge game at Anfield:
Marcus Rashford
Rashford is ill and looks set to miss the trip to Anfield on Sunday.
What Amorim said: “It’s the same situation,” Amorim said when asked about Rashford. “At the moment, he’s ill, he’s not training so we’ll see in the future but he’s like a normal player, then I make a selection so it’s the same. I think he’s going to be out this week, he’s not training. We’ll see but I think this week he’s out.”
Expected return date: Unknown.
Mason Mount
Injury: Thigh injury
What Amorim said: “[He will be out for] Several weeks. I don’t know the exact date but it’s going to be for long and that’s it. That’s part of football, you continue.”
Expected return date: January.
Luke Shaw
Injury: Hamstring.
Shaw suffered a hamstring injury just weeks after returning from injury. He confirmed he had picked up a knock in a social media post, adding that he was “absolutely devastated” to have suffered another setback.
What Amorim said: “What I said to him as a coach, since I’m here, I saw him in the medical department, in the gym, I saw him losing weight, I saw him in training, so he did everything right.”
Expected return date: Unknown.
Victor Lindelof
Injury: Unknown.
After making a rare start against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, Lindelof picked up an injury and was replaced in the first half.
What Amorim has said: “I think he has something we have to assess to say specifically what he has, but it’s tough to lose a player.”
Expected return date: Unknown.
