Restaurant selling ‘giant parathas’ coming to this Blackburn location

A new Paratha Stop restaurant is set to open on Blackburn’s busiest high street.

The 200-seater restaurant will take up the second floor above the KQF superstore in Whalley Range.

It comes after the growing success of the Bolton branch which has proved popular with diners.

Plans are for the restaurant to open after Ramadan and Eid at the end of March.

A paratha is a flatbread, very much like a chapatti, though thicker due to being folded with ghee or oil, similar to how puff pastry is prepared.

It is normally eaten on its own or with curries.

The Paratha Stop menu features more unusual fillings, serving up parathas with everything from chicken tikka to donner meat.

The menu also features street foods such as samosa chaat, bhel puri and pakoras.

A spokesperson said: “After the success in Bolton we have picked Blackburn as our next location, after massive demand from all our Lancashire customers.

“We will be adding many more street foods and handmade parathas to the menu.

“There will also be live events as we have a full stage setup,

“We will also have a VIP dining area which includes VIP parking.”

Diminutive singer and social media star Abdu Rozik is also due to be at Paratha Stop on Horsefield Street today (Friday).

The restaurant said it would open in Blackburn throughout the day from 8am to 10pm (Mondays to Thursdays) and until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

The new Paratha Stop will be located close to a number of new ventures which have opened in recent years, including Mi Chaii, The Belgium Waffle Company and Chaiwalla.
