Roads in Cumbria which are reported closed by police- as ‘heavy snow’ hits the county

A NUMBER of major roads in Cumbria have been affected by heavy snow- following an amber weather warning being issued this weekend.

Cumbria police have updated people on roads and passes that have been affected via their traffic map.

Here are all the roads that are currently affected by the weather, according to the traffic update map.

Papcastle – A595 – Incidents and Hazards

A595 both ways closed due to snow from A594 (Belle Vue Roundabout, Papcastle) to Boltongate turn off (Mealsgate).

Brough – A66 – Incidents and Hazards

A66 both ways closed due to snow between A685 (Brough, Brough) and The Bowes Museum turn off (Bowes).

Bowes – A66 – Incidents and Hazards

A66 both ways closed due to snow from Barnard Castle turn off (Bowes) to A1(M) J53 Scotch Corner (Scotch Corner).

Brampton – A69 – Accidents

A69 both ways blocked due to accident and snow from the Shell petrol station to Low Row turn-off.

Sebergham – B5305 – Accidents

B5305 both ways closed due to accident and snow from Limetree Grove to The Bridge. Traffic is coping well.

Cockley Beck – Hardknott Pass – Incidents and Hazards

Hardknott Pass both ways closed due to ice between Wrynose Pass (Cockley Beck) and Brook House Inn (Boot).

Braithwaite – Newlands Pass – Incidents and Hazards

Newlands Pass both ways closed due to ice between Braithwaite (Braithwaite) and Buttermere (Buttermere).

Cockley Beck – Wrynose Pass – Incidents and Hazards

Wrynose Pass both ways closed due to ice from Hardknott Pass (Cockley Beck) to Side Gates (Little Langdale).
