Roy Keane has hit out at Manchester United’s players ahead of today’s clash with Liverpool, with the former midfielder fearing the worst for his old side.
After fears that the game could have been postponed earlier due to the snow on Merseyside, the Reds will host their great rival at Anfield, and the two sides could not be much further apart ahead of kick-off.
Liverpool sits top of the Premier League and could go eight points clear with victory today following Arsenal’s draw with Brighton on Saturday. Arne Slot’s side is a staggering 23 points ahead of today’s opponents, with the appointment of Ruben Amorim making no difference to United’s fortunes so far.

The Red Devils are languishing in 14th, having lost five of their last six league games, with their new boss even admitting they could be in a relegation battle this season.
It’s no surprise then that Liverpool is being tipped for a big win later, and former United captain Keane did not sound at all confident as he laid into the visitors’ current crop of players.
“When you look at the stats – my goodness, they are so bad,” Keane said of United on Sky Sports.
“Obviously the new manager’s come in, there’s been literally no reaction from the players which is a big concern. You look at the evidence over the last month or two and even previously, and then you’re asking yourself how can Man United come to Liverpool today and get a result.

“Morale, confidence must be really low, obviously, they’re not scoring goals, set-pieces, they’re not great at defending, they don’t look like a great group, they haven’t got that goalscorer.
“You look at any top team, we sit around most weeks and say Man United are a world class club. They’ve got no world class players, they haven’t even got a striker today that you think could get you out of jail. You look at the goalkeeper, he’s not great, so the evidence suggests it’s going to be tough going for Man United, and the players have to be held accountable.
“We talk about the system, the ownership, the usual stuff, but the players – every time I look at United, you want them to turn up with quality, pace and belief and whatever, but I just want a bit of passion today from United, a bit of passion in their performances. You ask if you can show any enthusiasm for the game, a bit of energy, we’re not even seeing that from this group of players, and it’s absolutely disgraceful what they’re doing week in, week out.”
