Manchester United will be looking to halt a five-game winless run when they visit Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup.

United, who have not won at the Emirates since 2019, will be looking to record their first win since December 15 after producing a much-improved performance in last Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

Head coach Ruben Amorim, who will experience the FA Cup for the very first time this weekend, has confirmed Altay Bayindir will start in goal against Mikel Arteta’s team. He will replace Andre Onana between the sticks, granting the Cameroonian a rare breather.

Amorim did not report any fresh injury concerns during his pre-match press conference on Friday, meaning he could name an unchanged back-three for the third game running for the first time in his tenure. However, Leny Yoro will be knocking on the door in pursuit of a first start since the 2-0 defeat to Wolves on Boxing Day.

But to the credit of Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Martinez, they each performed well against Liverpool and would be worthy of retaining their places.

It is highly likely Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte will remain side-by-side in midfield. They both produced excellent performances last time out. As far as the wing-backs are concerned, Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot could start.

In attack, Amorim could stick with the same trio that started against Liverpool. Amad has established himself as the right-sided No.10 in recent weeks, meaning he and Bruno Fernandes could support Rasmus Hojlund.

Amorim is yet to make as few as one change to a starting line-up since becoming United boss. The likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro and Yoro will be among those hoping for starts.
