A BwD road spokesperson said: “If your car is obstructing the road in these areas, please move it if it is safe to do so.
“A reminder, please think about our gritters, bin wagons and emergency services when parking your car.”
Blackburn with Darwen Council said a telegraph pole fell into the road on Whalley New Road was removed early this morning.
The council said: “Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (Official) has attended and removed the pole, however they strongly advise that you avoid the area as the cables are continuing to cause an obstruction.”
Lancashire County Council said gritting teams have been out since Friday and ploughing was underway.
The council asked people not to travel unless necessary, “Despite our best efforts, winter weather can still make roads treacherous and there is no guarantee that roads will always be completely free of ice and snow.
“The key to safer driving, riding or cycling this winter is to make sure you and your mode of transport are fully prepared and to make sure you always travel with due care for the weather and condition of the roads.”
