Snowman’s impressive ‘tackle’ raises eyebrows in Grappenhall

A RESIDENT has been left ‘disgusted’ by the sight of a graphic snowman built in Grappenhall.

The enormous snowy figure standing proud on the rugby pitch of Grappenhall Sports Club  leaves little to the imagination, with a massive pair of gentiles visible on the snowman.

And one outraged resident took to social media to express their utter ‘disgust’ with the sight, having been out on a stroll with their grandchildren when they came across it.

The resident posted on a Lymm Facebook group, stating: “Absolutely disgusted with this, took the grandchildren on a snowy walk and don’t want to have to see things like this.”

Accompanying the post with pictures of the snowman, they added: “Does anyone where I can report this?”

The snowman was built on the rugby pitches at Grappenhall Sports Club (Image: Supplied) With heavy snowfall hitting Warrington once again over the last week, many ventured out early to take advantage of the crisp blanket of snow and create their own snowmen – but maybe this was not what people had in mind.

However, commenters on the thread were less offended by the figure, with one resident joking: “It’s only like walking through the streets of Athens with all the marble statues but colder.”

While another highlighted that it was ‘definitely a snow man’.

One resident mocked the appearance of more than one ‘tackle’ on the rugby pitch that morning, adding: “Is this Grappenhall Rugby field? I was running along the canal and could see the tackle from a good distance away. Great effort, made me chuckle.”

As more snow is expected to fall across Warrington throughout the day and on through until Wednesday, our rude snowman may not be such an eyesore to some by this time tomorrow.
