A Bury supermarket has made temporary changes to its opening hours ahead of a £2m makeover.
Work will start on the Asda store in Pilsworth this weekend to create a “simpler layout and more exciting shopping experience” for its customers.
The store on Pilsworth Road will remain open for shoppers but some sections will temporarily close at different times while they are being upgraded.
The upgrade will be carried over seven weeks and, although some work will start this weekend, the full project is due to launch in March.
Due to the large scale of the project, the opening hours have now been temporarily adjusted to Monday 7am to 10pm, Tuesday-Saturday 6am to 10pm and Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm.
It is the largest investment in a single Asda store upgrade in “several years”.
A spokesperson for Asda said: “This £2m investment in upgrading our Pilsworth store is focused on improving the shopping experience for hard-working families in the local community and our colleagues.
“We want shopping Asda Price to be as convenient and enjoyable as possible for all customers.”

The supermarket giant hopes to provide simpler navigation which will help customers find what they need easier.
The updates include new low-level fridges, feature lighting, new overhead signage and a new wines and spirits zone.
Staff will be on hand to assist customers and there will be clear signage in place to direct shoppers to sections of the store that may have been moved in the upgrade, including details of what is closed and when.
