THERE is still time left to nominate your own health hero for a Warrington and Halton Hospitals People’s Choice Award.
Returning for the second year, the special award provides an opportunity for members of the public to nominate someone who has gone the extra mile at the trust (WHH).
The panel of judges want to hear your stories about a person, team, ward or department that has made a positive difference to your experience at the hospital during the past 12 months.
Entries to the People’s Choice Award will close next Friday, January 24, – meaning there are only a few more days to get your nominations in.
Last year, the dedicated neonatal unit team were crowned the People’s Choice Award winner.
The award celebrated the department for their work to provide support during the most precious yet challenging times that some families face.
The nomination hailed the team as ‘amazing individuals’, recognising the high level of clinical care and specialist medical advice provided by the team to some of the most vulnerable and poorly babies.
Nominations for 2024-25 can be made by completing this form: https://forms.office.com/e/8Wp5exGQdL
This year winners will be honoured at the trust’s Thank You Awards ceremony taking place at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on May 16.
Nikhil Khashu, chief executive of Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our staff work hard day in day out to care for our community, and it is vitally important that we continue to recognise their incredible work.
“Our annual WHH Thank You Awards provide an important space for us to reflect and recognise the extraordinary achievements of our teams and shine a spotlight on those who deliver outstanding care, support, and innovative improvements to ensure the very best patient experience and outcomes.
“We were inundated with your nominations for the People’s Choice Award last year, making it an incredibly difficult decision to choose just one winner, so we are delighted to welcome it back for the second year running.
“We are appealing to readers of the Warrington Guardian/Runcorn and Widnes World to nominate staff and volunteers who have gone above and beyond for this special award. This could be anything from a simple act of kindness, compassion or something that highlights their dedication to duty.
“Any of our staff members or volunteers can be considered for the award and it doesn’t matter how you have received care. Your experience may have been during a routine appointment, inpatient stay, emergency visit or even while supporting another family member or friend in hospital. All nominations will be gratefully received and considered by our judging panel.”
