A TIMBER supplier in Warrington are offering a free hot coffee to anyone who wants to donate their unused coats to someone else who may need it this winter.
Rowswood Timber, based on Hatton Lane, has posted the heart-warming appeal on social media, naming the initiative ‘Coats for Coffee’.
The company, that are suppliers of timber goods and materials, is hoping to collect as many coats as possible that the staff can then distribute to those who need them in Warrington.
And with the freezing cold temperatures we are experiencing at the moment, they sure will be a welcomed asset to many.
On a post on Facebook, the company said: “Have you got any old coats clogging up space in your cupboard?
“Have you got a nice new coat, meaning you will never wear your old one?
“Bring them to us at Rowswood Timber and swap them for a nice fresh bean coffee.”
The post went on to highlight the ‘freezing’ temperatures which call for kind acts like these to help others within the community.
It continued: “We will take them into Warrington and distribute them to people who need them.”

So far, after having posted the appeal just over 20 hours ago, the firm received more than 20 coat donations from the general public.
And the team spent time last night out in town handing them to people who needed them.
In a more recent update to the appeal today following the distribution of the coats, the company said: “The coats brought to us yesterday were distributed and very gratefully received. The public response to the post has been amazing.
“But it is cold, we can do more. Having spoken directly to people affected, they need more than coats…. shoes, jumpers and trousers. Therefore we are extending our request to include these items, good condition only.
“Also, do you have any left over mince pies or Christmas hamper food, unopened and in date? Drop to us and we will get it out to those who can benefit from it.”
If you want to help or contribute to the winter appeal ran by Rowswood Timber, bring any of the mentioned items down to their base at Pillmoss Barn, Hatton Lane, Warrington, WA4 4DA.
