Trent Alexander-Arnold made another gesture away from the cameras on Sunday that showed his true feelings amid the ongoing speculation around his future.
The Liverpool vice-captain is potentially just six months away from leaving Anfield for nothing now, with his contract expiring at the end of the current season. Alexander-Arnold is of course one of three big-name players in that situation, with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk also due to become free agents as things stand.
Alexander-Arnold is being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, with the speculation set to go into overdrive in the coming weeks as January arrives. The 26-year-old will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from the beginning of 2025 if he chooses to do so.

In fact, reports in Spain have claimed that Alexander-Arnold has already made his mind up on a move to the Bernabeu. Marca ran with a frontpage story declaring that the right-back has decided to join Real, and has informed Liverpool of his decision.
The England international seemed to refute that on the pitch on Sunday though. Celebrating his goal against West Ham during the 5-0 win, Alexander-Arnold made a talking motion with his hand, suggesting that he is growing increasingly tired of the rumors surrounding his future.
And he appeared to be taking the same stance as he made his way through the mixed zone after the game. Having been asked whether he would stop for an interview with reporters, Alexander-Arnold instead flashed a wry smile (as per the ECHO) before continuing to walk toward the team bus.

The Liverpool academy graduate has given very little away about his future this season, having previously insisted that his contract negotiations wouldn’t play out in public. He has been handed a new contract offer by the club, although he is yet to make a decision on his future.
“I’ve been at the club 20 years now; I’ve signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public. This one won’t be either,” Alexander-Arnold said back in September.
“I want to be a Liverpool player this season [as a minimum]. I want to win trophies; I am a player who is highly motivated by trophies and winning things and being elite. So that is probably the main factor of anything, if you have a personality that is elite, who wants to win and will do anything to win then that is what drives me.”
