AN urgent appeal for food and supplies has been issued for those whose homes were devastated by the floodings on New Year’s Day.
Warrington South MP Sarah Hall is calling on the local community to come together and support residents in urgent need of essential supplies.
The appeal focuses on food, cleaning products, and toiletries to assist families and individuals as they begin the difficult process of recovering from the floods.
Items urgently needed include:
-
New Cleaning Products: Bleach, disinfectant, etc.
-
New Cleaning Supplies: Cloths, sponges, mops, buckets, gloves, etc.
-
New Store Cupboard Foods: Tinned meat, fish, vegetables, pulses, long-life juices, jam, tea, coffee, long-life milk, cereal, rice, pasta, etc.
-
New Toiletries: Deodorant, shampoo, shower gel, etc.
The Warrington Islamic Centre, located on Lockton Lane, Bewsey, Warrington, WA5 0BF, has generously offered to act as a collection point for donations. Items can be dropped off today, Tuesday, between 10am and 4pm.
Ms Hall said: “At the moment we are only accepting the above items as we are coordinating larger items separately on a case by case basis to ensure we are meeting the residents individual and unique needs.
“If you prefer, the fundraiser remains open and we are buying supplies with donations as well.
“We appreciate all of the help received so far and the hard work of all the volunteers.
“Thank you!”
Donations are being used to purchase essential supplies, ensuring that every contribution directly supports those affected by the flooding.
