Well-known garage resolves petrol problems with 20 cars affected

AT LEAST 20 vehicles faced problems after refuelling at the BP Ace of Hearts garage.

On January 9, customers reported mechanical issues shortly after filling up, prompting the Bold Heath garage to take swift action.

Within two days, all affected cars were repaired, with the garage working alongside a specialist fuel service to resolve the problem and compensate drivers for the inconvenience.

The Director of Ace of Hearts garage has said: “We had reports of some cars breaking down on January 10 and after a few complaints we realised something serious had happened with two of our pumps.

“After receiving a fourth complaint, we decided to go ahead and put the pumps out of action.

“We put together a team to handle the complaints and contacted Fuel Flush to go to the customers’ doorsteps to resolve the problem.

“We fully understand that whatever happened is something we had to fix because we want to put a very clear message to the customers; if it was caused by us, we will fix it ourselves.

“Fuel Flush gave us a very dedicated team. They worked in minus five degrees and the final job was completed at 9.45pm on Sunday.

“In a matter of two days we had fixed just over 20 cars.

“The quality of the service we received from Fuel Flush was brilliant; they fixed every single car without failing.

Fuel Flush is a North-West ‘wrong fuel specialist’ who work from Preston to Manchester.

He added: “We tried to help our customers in any way that we could, and we compensated them for the cost of the fuel.

“Overall, it was an unfortunate incident, but I am glad that we were able to respond to complaints.

“Our main priority was to get people back on the road, then the second phase was to investigate what happened.

“On Monday morning it was established that it was not a BP fuel issue. The BP fuel was fine; it was a problem with two nozzles.

“BP has offered their full support to keep our standards maintained.”

This comes just days after complaints were made in Rayleigh, Essex and a BP garage was forced to close on January 7. The two instances are not connected.

“Even before the investigation, we were out fixing the cars. Our main objective was to prevent customers from suffering.”
