TWO West Cumbrians have been honoured in the Kings New Years Honours List for 2025 for services to the community of the area.
It has been announced that the following Cumbrian residents have received a UK honour in HM The King’s New Year honours list.
The Honours system gives national recognition to people who have given exceptional service in public and community life and are committed to making a difference to those around them.
The Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Years Day Honours list 2025 have been announced across Cumbria, these include:
Dr Christopher Jeremy Ayling has been awarded an honour for services to the community in Ennerdale, Cumbria.
David Davidson was given one of the accolades for services to the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and to the Education Sector in Cumbria.
Mr Davidson works as a Performance Reporting Manager at the NDA, as well as serving as a sponsor trustee and Chair of the Changing Lives trustee’s.
HM Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria, Mr. Alexander Scott congratulates all the award winners, he said: “It’s a moment of great pride for our county to see so many Cumbrian residents recognised for their remarkable contributions to our communities. Being awarded an Honour is a truly significant achievement, and I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the recipients.”
