When is SAS Rogue Heroes season 2 on, cast, episodes and is it a true story

After a long wait, the second series of SAS Rogue Heroes is about to be released.

From Peaky Blinder’s creator Steven Wright, the show revolves around the Special Air Service (the SAS), a special commando unit that operated behind enemies during World War II.

SAS Rogue Heroes Series 1 was released in 2022, so fans have had a long wait for this second series, and it is expected to be followed with a third at some point.

The second season will pick up in spring 1943, with the action shifting from Cairo to mainland Europe, as Paddy Mayne (Jack O’Connell) takes control of the SAS following David Stirling’s (Connor Swindells) capture.

The official series 2 synopsis reads: “GHQ have cast doubt over the future of the regiment, while the creation of a second unit and an influx of new arrivals make things even more difficult for the men.

“Can they prove that the SAS remains essential to the war, wherever it may lead them?”

The BBC previously released some dramatic first-look images, including one showing cast members O’Connell, Dominic West and Sofia Boutella sat around a dining table, and another showing Swindells in action as Stirling.

Alongside returning characters, there are some new additions, including Con O’Neill (known for Happy Valley) as British Commander General Montgomery, and Mark Rowley (from The Last Kingdom) and Jack Barton (from Heartstopper) as new SAS recruits Jock McDiarmid and John Tonkin.
